That lo-fi 90s life we all dream about
You know what I’m talking about right? Coffee brewing at a Brooklyn cafe. Misty mornings in Portland caught on camera. Literally anything related to Mac Demarco. Driving in a cozy used car, the feeling of fuzzy fabric covered seats, and windshield wipers going slow on a calm rainy day. Cassette and VHS tapes. Extra-large thrifted denim jackets. Dirty white converse that show where they have traveled...
How to live a more authentic life -
Take pictures that reflect who you are, rather than some athletically pleasing, social media curated bullshit. Listen to music that makes you happy, regardless of whether it’s “cool” or not. Wear what makes you feel confident, cut your hair however you want, don’t cover up your blemishes to look good for others (unless you really want to), and embrace your natural state of existing (#bodyposi). Go to concerts without a camera. Bring your CD player on the train instead of your spotify. Take breaks from the internet and technology. Go to the movies or get coffee BY YOURSELF if you can’t find anyone to go with, don’t waste your time wishing you could do something, just do it.
Lastly, the most important tip...MAKE MEMORIES! Enjoy every important moment of your life and breathe in the beauty around you. Look up from your phone, have deep conversations with your friends and family about meaningful topics, and be the kind of person who does things, instead of the kind of person who just waits around for their life to begin.
Go outside today and do something today!
XOXO
